Kinectrics' new GRIDSIM Power Lab, coupled with subject matter experts who are intimately familiar with the new standards, make it possible to get your inverter to market faster, more cost efficiently and with a turnkey approach even in the megawatt power class.
Our GRIDSIM lab will be able to perform testing to UL 1741 SA and associated source requirement documents, CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 and IEC 62109. This capability suits original equipment manufacturers like you to research, develop, test, and certify your new technologies in support of safe renewable power integration with the grid.
The lab is uniquely geared toward performing tests to IEEE 1547.1 and UL1741SA for inverters, converters, controllers and interconnection system equipment for accurate testing and compliance at real power in the multi-megawatt class. Kinectrics will work closely with the inverter manufacturer or NRTL as needed. The battery of tests range from short circuit to heat runs, abnormal frequency and voltage (L/HFRT & L/HVRT), synchronization and harmonics amongst many others.

Our GRIDSIM Power Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility in Toronto, Canada with built in capabilities for testing state of the art and next generation grid connected control equipment. The grid simulator has functionality to communicate with the Kinectrics Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) supercomputer to be able to perform power study type analysis at real power in the multi megawatt class also known as PHIL (Powered-Hardware-In-Loop) testing.

Our GRIDSIM Power Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility in Toronto, Canada. We have a highly trained workforce of engineers and technicians with years of experience doing qualification type testing of light rail transit power systems such those used at substations and feeder systems over a wide range of voltages and frequencies (50Hz and 60Hz application).
Kinectrics has been performing rail specific testing for a number of years for an international customer base for projects around the world. Our team is well versed with working with high power AC and DC systems including medium voltage cabling and terminations and balance of plant systems such as load banks.
Kinectrics is presently (and historically for decades) been involved in specialized testing and research areas. This extends to newer areas as well with the intent to grow into type testing of generators, motors, Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and others.
